Job Overview:
The Biller for the Interventional Radiology Special Procedures department reviews pending billing and work lists for the IR department within EPIC to facilitate timely and accurate billing.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma
- Knowledge of computers and medical terminology
- Microsoft Office experience
Preferred:
- College courses
- Hospital billing experience
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- Reviews and analyzes Epic reports and dictations, verifying accuracy of data and reconciling any discrepancies between the reports and CPT codes to facilitate the billing process
- Communicates any relevant information to related departments
- Assigns a finance code to each chart based on established criteria and RADCODE
- Enters code into EPIC for billing purposes
- Performs audits and follow-up on outstanding charts, credit issues and billing complaints with the ability to directly bill and adjust charges in EPIC
- Works billing worklists, addresses pending billing emails, and attends the Bill Hold meetings to resolve bill hold problems and improve performance
- Tracks down missing charts utilizing available resources
- Utilizes time in a manner which maximizes individual and departmental performance objectives
- Displays flexibility in prioritizing assignments
- Works harmoniously with other staff, promotes the hospital's guest relations program, and acts as a resource
