Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Children s Health Service Line leadership team. This role provides direct exposure to several key strategic focus areas including operations, finance, quality & safety and patient experience; and is an excellent growth opportunity for someone looking to develop within a healthcare administration, data strategy or business management track. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can interact with internal data scientists and reporting specialists as well as independently learn to use, extract, and visualize data from multiple internal and external systems including Epic, registry databases (e.g. Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS)) and third party systems (e.g. Vizient, Press Ganey, and USNWR Hospital Data Insights (HDI)). This individual will be responsible for facilitating the execution of ad hoc data requests and supporting key project areas as well as managing the data infrastructure at for the service line team at large, including independently maintaining the regular distribution of standard reports to appropriate stakeholders. Candidates must be able to work at a detailed level while maintaining the big picture of overall service line goals, and providing actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decisions. Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor s degree required; finance or related field preferred
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint & Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, charts and formulas, and efficiently working with large data sets
- Working knowledge of budgeting and healthcare finance
Preferred:
- Two years experience in data management; hospital/healthcare setting preferred
- Working knowledge of Tableau and/or other BI software strongly preferred

Essential Functions:

Data extraction and analysis
- Translate business needs into reporting requests that can be executed by existing colleagues in Epic and Decision Support teams.
- Facilitate collaboration across data support teams, IT, finance, and clinical leadership to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
- Directly pull, integrate and analyze data from systems where appropriate.
- Complete analyses and present data in a way that enables data driven insights for special projects and executive decision making.
- Analyze data for opportunities by site across the system, elevating findings to service line leadership.

Reporting & visualization
- Develop and present reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators using visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Excel) to address and support key business functions and initiatives.
- Maintain regular cadence of updates and distribution of standardized reports/dashboards.
- Assist in the implementation and completion of benchmarking key metrics for the service line performance.
- Assist with onsite productivity meetings with department leadership and senior staff, summarizing key issues and following up on items to be researched, changed or implemented
- Make and execute recommendations to streamline the reporting processes and/or optimize and streamline data infrastructure and operations (e.g. avoid duplication of work and reporting).

- Maintain a current working knowledge of healthcare related issues and regulations.
