Educator, SPD (Full-Time), Long Branch, NJ

Job Overview:

This position is under the direct supervision of the SPD director. The educator is responsible for orientation of new staff members and facilitating training. This role will be responsible for all competencies initial and ongoing as well as greeting ongoing list of due dates for such. The educator will be facilitating education of the OR leadership, CSP staff and CSP leadership on all regulatory standards, recommendations and compliance. The educator will be responsible of ongoing quality concerns within CSP and provides re-education if needed. The educator will be competent to fill in as a sterile processing technician when all educator rolls are complete.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equiv.
• CRCST through HSPA or CBSPD
• Minimum 5 years experience in SPD
• Certified Health Leader certificate upon hire
• Certified endoscope reprocessing certification required within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

• Previous educator experience as well as training experience in team building

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time
• 40 hours per week
• Must be able to work all shifts as needed
• No weekends/holidays

Essential Functions:

• Conduct employee in services
• Orient new staff members and facilitate training
• Responsible for all compentencies, initial and ongoing, as well as maintaining list of due dates for such
• Facilitating education of the OR leadership units, CSP staff and CSP leadership on all regulatory standards
• Instructs and on the job training for new and exsisting employees, including student externs
• Performs quality audits on all aspects of sterile processing, including but not limited to tray audits, borescope and spray audits
• Maintains constant/steady work flow within SPD, Central ervice and Or Departments
• Responsible for quality concerns within CSP and providing reeducation as needed
• Performs duties of an SPD Tech whenever necessary
• Oversee daily department QC and improvement programs, including error detection, daily activity and improvement panning and implementation
• Performs all other duties as requested by the SPD Director within the established time frame.
