What are the responsibilities and job description for the EEG Technician, Cardiac Diag Lab position at RWJBarnabas Health?
Job Overview:
The EEG Technician provides EEG testing both routine and LTM studies for inpatients and outpatients.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Completion of EKG Technician Certification Course/Program
Preferred:
- Completion of EEG/EMG, Stress Testing
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- EKG Certification
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, may vary
- Occasional weekend and holiday coverage, on-call may be needed
- FT
Essential Functions:
- Assists with Stress Testing Procedures, EEG, Holter Monitoring, Pacemaker Checks
- Identifies and records basic arrhythmias on cardiograms
- Provides appropriate patient teaching articles for patients and families
- Scans holter tapes/ discs, interprets and produces report for physician
- Schedules appointments with patients, physician offices, patient units, and other departmental areas as needed
- Notifies Manager when clinical supplies are needed, repairs or equipment adjustments are warranted
- Maintain daily statistics
- Arrange transport of patients with patient units and transporters
