RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Infection Preventionist for our Infection Control Department at the New Brunswick campus Morris Cancer Hospital,
The Infection Preventionist IP will support the efficient function of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Nursing OR other Health Science-related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care facility
- Prior infection prevention experience preferred
- Infection Control (CIC) Certification Preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Certification required after 2 years experience
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift, 40 hours per week
- Monday Friday
- Full Time
Essential Functions:
- IP supports the philosophy, objectives and mission and vision of RWJUH and the Department of Infection Prevention,
- IP practices in accordance with the Department of Health regulations, Joint Commission, CDC, NHSN and other regulatory agencies,
- IP collects, analyzes and presents data relevant to infection control/infectious disease,
- IP provides education based upon identified needs and age of associates and in accordance with approved Infection control policies and procedures,
- IP develops policies and procedures regarding infection control,
- IP participates at the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and other committees as assigned,
- IP accepts on call schedule as determined by the Director,
- IP investigates clusters, outbreaks and assists in complying with regulatory agencies,
- IP Participates in performance improvement evaluation activities
