Job Overview : Processes, performs and results medical diagnostic testing on body fluids by automated and manual methods in a timely manner under the supervision of the senior technologists,
Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or military service equivalent required,
MLT certification from ASCP within 8 months of employment or equivalent,
Scheduling Requirements :

Night Shift
Essential Functions :
Produces medical diagnostic test results in an efficient and cost effective manner for stat and routine specimens,
Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs instruments and lab equipment if possible,
Maintains all necessary QC, QA and repair records required by accreditation agencies,
Verifies orders from scripts and orders procedures in HIS and LIS,
Assists in clerical duties as needed,
Assists in the training of new employees and students,
Segregates laboratory wastes according to established policies,
Works on special projects as requested by Director,
Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to assess data reflective of each patient's status and provide acre appropriate to the age of the patient served : infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric,
