Pharmacy Technician Certified , Medication History Tech, Mid-Shift 12p-8p

Job Overview:

Medication History Technician: A Certified Pharmacy Technician will participate in the medication reconciliation process that will include accessing the electronic medical record EMR in the Emergency Department ED and prioritizing patients to be admitted. The technician will interview the patient or their family member to obtain an accurate medication history. The technician will also need to review currently documented external prescription history and contact the patient s retail pharmacy or physician office to discuss any medication issues.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good communication skills are required
• Proficient in use of Pharmacy computer, and other departmental software, as required for position.

Preferred:

• Previous pharmacy experience is preferred
• Associates degree preferred
• Prior pharmacy experience preferred
• Prior experience with dispensing in an institutional environment preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered Pharmacy technician or registry eligible within six months of hire required

Scheduling Requirements:

• 12:00 pm 8:00 pm
• Alternating Weekends and Holidays
• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Technician will update and compare the patient s home medication list in the EMR for the provider to reconcile
• Good communication skills are required for interviewing patients and their families, as well as relaying the use of non-formulary medications to the pharmacist
• Having a working knowledge of healthcare informatics is vital for their entry and documentation of their daily activities.
• This individual will also provide cross-coverage for all other pharmacy technician roles as necessary.

Pay Range:

$ 23.49 minimum to $ 29.86 maximum Hourly Rate
