Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with a focus on family practice and weight management. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in accordance with established medical guidelines and best practices.
Performance Expectations:
- Maintain full appointment schedule for office practice and other settings
- Utilizes state of the art diagnostic and treatment techniques
- Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals and other medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
- Direct and coordinates the patient care activities of technical and support staff as required.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
- Maintain necessary credentialing, licensure and continuing education requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Moderate physical activity.
- Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
Knowledge, Skills and Technical Quality:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern medicine.
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and science.
- Thorough understanding of theories, methods and procedures for the prevention of diseases and the required corrective treatment.
- Knowledge of community based medical environments.
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of ethical and legal standards for the delivery of care.
- Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions and progress.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides and ability to prescribe dosage and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.

Education/Licensure Requirements:
- NP/PA medical degree from an accredited college or university
- Current licensure in the state of Oklahoma
- Valid DEA license to prescribe controlled substances.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Utilizes state of the art diagnostic and treatment techniques

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
