POSIITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will oversee and manage essential financial operations to ensure the organization’s resources are used effectively and in alignment with its mission. This role will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain financial records, and support compliance with non-profit financial regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audits, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring smooth processes.
- Budget Oversight: Collaborate with department heads to track and reconcile budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocations.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and timely service to patients and vendors through electronic communications as well as inbound and outbound calls.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with preparing and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets in accordance with GAAP and non-profit standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, performing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Grant Accounting: Monitor and track grant funding, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements and timely reporting.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assists with IRS Form 990 filings and state-specific
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent professional work experience in accounting or finance.
· 2 years of professional accounting experience (non-profit experience preferred).
· Proficiency in QuickBooks online.
· Familiarity with grant management and reporting (preferred).
· Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· A passion for supporting non-profit missions.
