CoverMyMeds, fast-growing prescription technology organization within McKesson Corporation, is looking to hire a Director of Data Engineering Modernization to join our Data Strategy and Solutions team. This individual will lead our Data Modernization teams and have leadership oversight on transforming our many legacy data platforms into a modern, scalable ecosystem powered by a unified enterprise data model and integrating data across the organization. The Director, Data Modernization works at the strategic level for optimizing and streamlining data engineering processes and data warehouse platform design, overseeing enterprise data & analytics projects from the initiation phase through production readiness.
What You’ll Do :
As the Director of Data Engineering Modernization your daily to-dos will shift with business needs, but here’s a snapshot of what to expect :
Own and oversee data engineering best practices and platform development
Lead, mentor, guide, and grow a team of talented engineers and analysts to deliver products with high quality, on time delivery and designed to meet the needs of the business
Provide hands-on design guidance and documentation as needed
Ensure high level of data availability, developing and implementing processes that ensure the stability and performance of our data applications.
Provide evaluations, analysis, and recommendations for system enhancements, performance optimization techniques, and development methodology advancements.
Create solutions that adhere to privacy, governance, legal, compliance and other standards. Partner with business and technology to create a continuous loop of risk evaluation and remediation.
Ensure that team is tracking and communicating team capacity and velocity. Serve as a coach to help business stakeholders and team prioritize work within team capacity.
Skills You’ll Need
Degree or equivalent and typically has 12 years of relevant professional experience, including 4 years of management experience
Experience managing teams in complex environments with legacy systems
Strong, hands-on experience as a technologist working with data warehouse solutions, cloud technology, relational databases and dashboarding tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Oracle, MySQL, Qlik, Tableau, SQL Server, etc.
Experience working with cloud and modern data platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks etc., understanding of both cost and architecture
Experience with creating technical roadmaps and driving data engineering projects to timely delivery
Experience navigating a complex technical and organizational environmen
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to present complex technical ideations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Exceptional time management skills with the capacity to manage several tasks at once and prioritize accordingly to meet project and task deadlines
