Position Summary:
A successful candidate for a crane operator position should have experience working with cranes on construction sites and industrial sites. Experience in maintaining and doing pre-operating checks on cranes is also a must. Crane operators should be able to interpret drawings, blueprints or designs for a project. They also must have experience working as part of a team while maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical knowledge of how to properly use equipment needed for the job.
- Expert knowledge of the types of materials being moved, placed, loaded or unloaded.
- Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, designs
- Understanding of how to conduct preoperational checks on equipment and how to maintain them.
- Understanding of all safety requirements for the job site.
Qualifications:
- NCCO certification for running both lattice boom and telescopic boom cranes required.
- Marine / Barge crane experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
- Active DL and clean driving record is required.
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work in demanding outdoor conditions and ability to drive under pressure for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch according to site requirements.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Forklift experience a plus, but not a requirement.
- Experience in handling building materials.
- Must be able to lift 50100 lbs .
- Ability to work on feet for 810 hours with repeated bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Pay: $30 - $35/Hourly (Depending on experience)
