Marine Construction Worker

We are searching for a skilled and hard-working Marine Construction Worker with maritime experience to join our expanding team.

Job Summary: A Marine Construction Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including; welding / hot work, rigging, ropes and lines.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the work area is properly maintained, clean and tidy at all times
• Learn and demonstrate practical knowledge of all phases of shipboard safety procedures and knowledge of location and use of all safety equipment
• Welding metal pipes, plates, and other materials to build
• Inspecting welds to ensure they are strong, durable, and according to specification
• Perform maintenance and construction tasks as required

Experience, Qualifications & Education:

• Experience with driving piles, waterfront construction at large industrial sites
• Preferred experience with marine industry
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to endure noisy environments due to frequent use of power equipment and tools
• Physical strength, stamina, and mental alertness
• Lifting and rigging experience
• Knowledge of welding safety standards
• Knowledge and execution of various welding techniques
• Knowledgeable in metallurgy principles to (choose appropriate material and welding process for every job)
• Strong problemsolving skills to resolve an issue that arises while welding
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing oil drill machinery
• Proficiency in operating welding equipment and tools
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver's License required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to reach, grasp, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel
• Work in all types of climates
• Work in confined spaces and at heights in excess of 50 feet
• Lift and carry 5075 lbs for several hundred feet
• Ability to swim

Pay: $22 - $28/Hourly (Depending on experience)
