The Apprenticeship Program is a five-year program with on the job training in the field and a 19 Course correspondence through a nationally recognized university.
Once you have entered the Apprenticeship Program and have completed your six-month probationary period you are eligible to become a member of Local 669. Ryan would sponsor you during your six-month probationary period and the remainder of your time that you’re employed. An Apprentice is paid at a percentage of the Journeyman wage. Every six months of the Apprenticeship the apprentice records are reviewed to make sure that there is satisfactory progress both on-the-job and in the related training courses. Satisfactory progress means advancement to the next classification and a wage increase until the Apprentice completes the five-year program. If you join with completed college courses, military background or with experience/background in another field, you may receive credits which would advance your class number and hourly wage.
This position is eligible for full insurance benefits and a pension
The pay scale for Kentucky is as follows (these increases to each class happen every 6 months)
Class 1: $19.76
Class 2: $21.96
Class 3: $23.91
Class 4: $26.10
Class 5: $28.30
Class 6: $30.49
Class 7: $32.69
Class 8: $34.89
Class 9: $37.08
Class 10: $39.28
From there you’re turning out as a journeyman which = $40.67/hour, but at Ryan, we are training for you to be a Foreman who make $43.92/hour

Important Skills:
- Ability to adapt and learn a new trade
- Ability to work consistently with heights (tied off in a boom lift)
- our work can vary from underground to 100 feet in the air
Requirements:
- Basic construction knowledge preferred
- Understanding and experience using tools
- Ability to travel
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be physically fit to do the work of the trade.
- Must have other than dishonorable discharge from the military (if applicable).
- Must pass an appropriate drug test and physical
