What does a Certified Arborist do?
- Assist in completing pruning work on client properties, including but not limited to tree pruning, tree removal, shrub pruning, mulch installation, and stump grinding.
- Complete bid requests for service and handle diagnostic service calls.
- Work efficiently both in a team environment and independently.
- Operate small engine equipment such as chainsaws, shears, string trimmers, etc.
- Communicate with clients regarding the process and expectations of the services needed and performed.
- Operate small equipment.
- Assist with site clean-up.
- Assist with leading crews.
Requirements
A background in forestry or related fields is a plus, as is industry experience. Requirements include:
- 6 years of forestry experience
- ISA certification
- Maintenance of a state-issued pesticide applicator license
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- CDL Class B with air brakes required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull objects while walking 3 miles a day or more
- Ability to climb and work aloft
- Ability to obtain DOT certification
- Valid driver’s license required
