Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney at Ryder & Phelps, P.C. in Burlington, MA. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for working as a point person of support across an assigned caseload with senior level attorneys. The ideal candidate has stellar research skills, a strong interest in probate and family law, and the ability to collaborate with clients on completing complex tasks with deadlines. This role is ideal for a new attorney who has a strong desire to work with family law clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in Family Law – Up to 1 year of family law experience with a strong focus on divorce, child custody, support, asset division, and other family law matters.
- Strategic Litigation Skills – Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and legal arguments.
- Caseload Management – Proven ability to independently manage various case tasks, work directly with senior level attorneys, and assist clients throughout challenging processes.
- Legal Research & Analysis – Ability to conduct and apply thorough legal research, interpret case law, and apply relevant statutes to complex family law cases.
- Strong Written Communication– Ability to draft persuasive legal documents and effectively communicate complex legal matters to clients and opposing counsel.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities – Capability to evaluate cases and communicate with senior attorneys and clients to complete case milestones.
- Passion for Helping Others – Commitment and passion for supporting clients through challenging legal matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Accountability & Ownership – the ability to own case responsibilities independently.
Bar Admission – Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
