Summary

The Senior Business Development Manage is now responsible for leading mid-level complexity integrated deals across Ryder Supply Chain and Dedicated. Will continue working with other more tenured DBD's on larger deals at the discretion of the sales leader and splitting commission in certain areas of recognized understanding gaps in order to put together the most comprehensive deal for our customer while best positioning Ryder to win. The individual will be issued a sales quota, for which they will be held responsible.

Essential Functions

  • o Lead role on proactive sales and more consultative types of engagements including RFQ's and strategic initiatives.o Prospect new brands and develop industry network to build pipelineo Execute on cross sell opportunities where applicable
  • o Support larger deals with the assistance of a DBD.o Develop skills to eventually be promoted to DBD.o Negotiate contracts and close deals with support of sales leadero Align on prospecting message with Account development managerso Provide feedback to marketing and ADM on prospect quality and align on messaging
  • o Continued commercial support on accounts closed by Sr. BDMo Explore cross-selling opportunities for existing clients

Additional Responsibilities

  • Position will take more ownership in guiding the pursuit team for mid to large deal. Some shadowing will be available for larger opportunities.
  • Focus in one vertical / business unit – can work other deals at sales leader's discretion.
  • Understand how Ryder's solutions can be customized to meet customer's needs.
  • Adhere to Ryder's Policies and Procedures including Travel and Expense Policy.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required marketing / finance / business / supply chain / engineering or equally related experience.
  • Master's degree preferred business administration (MBA)
  • Two (2) years or more sales experience required.
  • Five (5) years or more in either sales, solutions, engineering or operations with at least three (3) years or more in selling supply chain solutions required.
  • One (1) year or more at quota and 1.5 years at 75% of quota required.
  • Understanding of services, costs, pricing and value intermediate required
  • Noncommercial Driver License CLASS E
  • DOT Regulated : No

    Compensation Information :

    The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data / ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

    Compensation ranges for the position are below :

    Pay Type :

    Salaried

    Minimum Pay Range : 80,000

    Maximum Pay Range : 95,000

    The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and / or long-term incentive plan based on the level and / or type.
