Summary

The Consultant Engineer is responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations.

Transportation experience (dedicated transportation preferred)

Continuous improvement mentality and ability to drive change within an established business

Transportation modeling / solutions development experience

Transportation metrics & data visualization

Proficient in transportation modeling tools such as Appian Direct Route, or similar

Ability to analyze transportation data for optimization opportunities, dedicated route design and strategic network analysis

Strong customer facing presence and ability to clearly articulate savings opportunities with the customer.

Essential Functions

Collects data and performs statistical analysis

Maps and documents processes. Recommends and implements process improvement

Establishes and implements performance measures

Manages small and medium size projects

Conducts Supply Chain and / or inventory analysis

Re-designs and / or re-engineers logistics processes

Supports business development and creates efficient designs and solutions

Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, driver and equipment utilization charts

Additional Responsibilities

Applies company methodologies and tools to design transportation operations

Confers with the Engineering and Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions

Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools

Assists in the development and delivery of presentations to customers as part of the sales team effort

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience

Master's degree preferred Industrial Engineering and / or Masters Degree

Four (4) years or more related work experience required

Total Work Systems (TQM)

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt

Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

DOT Regulated : No

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data / ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below :

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range : 85000

Maximum Pay Range : 95000

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and / or long-term incentive plan based on the level and / or type.
