What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health and Wellness Coordinator position at Rye Ymca?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining group exercise programs, including promotion, enrollment, retention, and evaluation. Additionally, it involves facilitating new member onboarding and engagement, with a focus on familiarizing and connecting members within the Health & Wellness department that may be of interest to them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in developing and implementing health & wellness program initiatives to promote program and/or membership growth and retention in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
2. Manage the recruiting, hiring, training, and continued development of group exercise instructors.
3. Manage and keep up to date group Exercise schedules and program offerings at the Y Studios
4. Recruit, promote, and register eligible participants in all Health & Wellness programs. Ensures quality results by monitoring, evaluating program effectiveness to verify compliance with reporting procedures and program standards.
5. Conduct onboarding and connect members to the Y Studios and Health & Wellness programs.
6. Coordinate and organize Health & Wellness events design to promote programs and drive membership engagement and retention.
7. Monitor daily operations of the Y studios and maintain accurate inventory of all equipment related to the program to adhere to YMCA Health and Safety policies.
8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. HS Diploma is required. Preferred Bachelor's degree in exercise science, health/physical education, nutrition or related field or equivalent experience.
2. Current Group Ex Certification or Personal Training with a minimum of 2 years instruction experience
3. Requires experience with group exercise, wellness and fitness program development.
4. Must have excellent oral and written communication and listen first skills with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals and build community with small groups.
5. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and enforce Y policies in a positive manner.
6. Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
7. Required certifications: CPR/AED

WORK SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-7pm
HOURLY PAY RANGE: $21.05 - $26.00 (depending on skills, experience and education)
