Operations Supervisor

Summary of position:

Responsible for the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of a 22 MW Biomass electrical power generation facility through effective motivation, direction, and supervision of personnel.

Reports to: Plant Manager

Location: East Ryegate, VT

Status: Wage/Salary – Compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise plant operations and operation personnel, including Control room operators and Steam plant operators.

Responsible for safe and efficient operations of all plant systems in accordance with plant procedures and rules.

Responsible for ensuring that operations logs and reports are being maintained for regulatory purposes, includes safety, chemical, environmental.

Responsible for supervising the training of the plant operations personnel to ensure that they are knowledgeable of their duties and equipment.

Responsible for conducting performance evaluations on personnel as required.

Work with the plant manager to ensure that adequate safety and equipment training is provided for all personnel.

Develops, refines, and administers plant operating procedures.

Creates and monitors housekeeping standards.

Acts as a team member with all employees of Ryegate Power station.

Responsible for scheduling of the 5 shift rotation of operations manpower to ensure coverage of employee PTO usage and plant operations while minimizing overtime.

Responsible for supervising plant chemistry program and the ordering of plant bulk chemicals.

Must know the hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and machinery.

Other Functions:

Will, additionally, be assigned further responsibilities including, but not limited to, operational, administrational and maintenance duties as deemed appropriate by the Plant Manager.

In addition to the normal 8 hour workday/workweek, may be required to work overtime to facilitate plant operations.
