This position is available on 1st shift from Monday to Friday.

As a Welder at Ryerson, you will be responsible for applying welding and fabricating processes to metal and ensuring quality and customer standards are met.
This position is available on 1st shift from Monday to Friday.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Applies appropriate welding and assembling applications in a fabrication environment and processes metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Works according to the layouts, work orders, and blueprints MIG and TIG welding equipment; will need to lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies of some material; will also need to position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications
- Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records
- Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and using prescribed safety equipment including PPE
- All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3 years experience in a steel or industrial manufacturing setting preferred
- Extensive MIG welding experience, TIG welding experience preferred
- Forklift and overhead crane experience
- Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
