Yard Hand

Job Summary:

The yard hand will be responsible for all yard work and services. The yard hand will be expected to cooperate and work productively with all members of Big Rock Paving, LLC and Rylind Construction Company, Inc., and Rylind Traffic Services (when applicable).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Drive company truck for pick ups
• Drive company truck for deliveries
• Run telehandler/skid steer
• Help drivers load trucks
• Help drivers strap down trucks
• Other job duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have reliable transportation, follow attendance policy and be ready to work at their designated start time.
• Must pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug-free status.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.

Education and Experience:

• High school or equivalent.
• Previous work experience suggested.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work.
• Position may require frequent walking throughout the jobsite.
• Work may be performed in an environment with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease, and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and exposure to moving equipment.
• Working at heights will vary, as well as working with various pieces of equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs from your waist to your shoulders.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs from the floor to your head.
• Must be able to push 80lbs and pull 100lbs.
• Must be able to make repetitive motions with all limbs.
• Must be able to move two or more limbs together.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to work the hours necessary in order to achieve the goals of the company.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
