Job Summary:
The Engineer I, Advanced Engineering provides engineering and design support related to new programs for both internal and external customers. This role involves working on innovative projects, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement advanced engineering solutions.
Essential Job Duties:
- Communicate with internal and external customer engineering teams regarding product design, engineering changes, and functional issues.
- Provide support to RDC departments on issues related to customer tooling, specifications, and part function.
- Lead technical presentations for new products or emerging technologies.
- Interpret customer prints, engineering specifications, layout results, critical customer characteristics, and functional requirements.
- Lead efforts in preparing quotations for new and existing products.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Support the core team through the Pre-Production Approval Process.
- Manage new product launch projects as assigned.
- Support customer cost reduction VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) teams.
- Assist in maintaining quality systems documentation for the BCE Department.
Qualifications:
- Technical Bachelor’s degree; OR
- Technical Associate’s degree 1 year of experience; OR
- 3 years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation, robotics, or emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C , etc.).
- Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to plant conditions, including noise, fumes, and cleaning chemicals.
- Regular exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs.
- Work will be in normal office conditions about 50% of the time.
