Machine Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd shift)

Description

General Summary:  Performs general preventive maintenance and makes machine/equipment repairs as directed.  Troubleshoots equipment.

Essential Functions: 

1)  Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned machines and equipment.

2)  Assures that machines and equipment are kept in a safe operating condition.

3)  Makes emergency repairs as safely and quickly as possible so as to maximize machine and equipment availability to production.

4)  Maintains records of all PM and other work performed.

5)  Assists operators and other key personnel (as specified) with training to better operate and maintain their own equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.

6)  Provides back-up programming as required.

7)  Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Pass hands-on and written test for this level.
• Successfully completes remaining 2 classes in Machine Maintenance Trainee program within given time frame.
• Must meet minimum requirements on current pay for skill matrix for this level.
• No final warning for attendance.
• Able to train newer machine maintenance techs.

Working Conditions:

• General maintenance conditions including occasional crawling on top of and underneath equipment.
• Frequent periods of crouching, kneeling, and working from heights.
• Nearly constant walking and standing.
• Extremely dirty and noisy work environment in certain areas of the plant.
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds;  frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds.
