Contents Lead Technician
Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Ability to travel and subject to overnight stays to the surrounding Midlands, Upstate, Peedee/Myrtle Beach, Rock Hill, and Marietta, Gwinnett County, GA)
Job Summary: The Contents Lead Technician works within the Emergency Services (Content Restoration) Department, primarily responsible for responding to emergency and property damaging situations. This role involves leading and managing the contents process and cleaning of all salvageable contents from a loss. The Contents Lead Technician is responsible for developing and communicating all aspects of the cleaning workflow and processing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team responsible for cleaning customer’s contents removed from a loss.
- Track, maintain, and upkeep equipment.
- Maintain daily equipment and supply inventory sheets for each team.
- Complete supply orders for the contents division.
- Train and coach contents field staff.
- Submit weekly timesheets and coded job hours to the Mitigation Manager.
- Approve field staff hourly time cards weekly.
- Assist the Coordinator with daily schedule, dispatch, and supervision of contents and laundry assigned jobs.
- Complete initial inspections for new losses within the contents division.
- Create estimates within the main estimating software for contents and laundry jobs.
- Supervise, lead, and coach field staff and subcontractors.
- Work safely in residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold.
- Complete cleaning processes for both contents and structural damage assigned jobs.
- Report inventory in the main operating system Encircle and Mica.
- Complete and file documentation on contents and laundry jobs.
- Communicate job progress and completion with Managers, Team Leaders, customers, and insurance adjustors/carriers.
- Act as the main point of contact for homeowners throughout assigned jobs.
- Maintain and create good relationships with insurance carriers and vendors.
- Complete work for catastrophic events.

- Attend industry-related trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work independently and lead a team.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience with content processing procedures.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
- IICRC certifications.
- 1 year experience in a Supervisory/Leadership role.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently move about client’s properties to complete estimates and oversee job completion.
- Occasionally operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Constantly move about job sites.
- Constantly position self to move about job sites; stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces.
- Occasionally ascend and descend a ladder to complete jobs.
- Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents.
- Must be able to communicate and converse with customers and staff over the phone and face-to-face.
- Occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
