About the Job
The primary function of this role is to establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at national, regional companies and end users. Emphasis is placed on early involvement to leverage into closed sales.
Responsibilities:
- Qualify potential buyers of service and/or products through scheduling sales calls and determining customer needs.
- Perform in-depth meetings with new & existing clients to demonstrate capabilities and service offerings.
- Stay informed about customers' business operations and employees.
- Maintain a steady pipeline of opportunities to pursue.
- Develop inside knowledge of customer hierarchies and purchasing processes.
- Entertain clients for relationship-building purposes as necessary.
- Conduct timely follow-ups with customers.
- Sales calls for contract, service, and end-user sales.
- Steer leads towards good customers to support our cause.
- Partner with clients early in the buyout process to eliminate competition.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to maximize market penetration.
- Join related fire protection and construction associations.
- Timely follow-ups on proposals submitted by sales representatives.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales-related activities.
- Submit required sales reports and correspondence in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of experience in a business-to-business development-type sales role required.
- Experience in Fire Protection Contracts or Sales preferred.
- Previous Fire Protection Design experience a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time required.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills required.
- Able to negotiate with clients in a positive manner that benefits both parties.
