Job Scope and Responsibilities:
The Sales/Project Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and managing ready-mix concrete projects for S.B. Cox Ready Mix, serving as the key liaison between clients, operations, and delivery teams. This role combines business development with project oversight, ensuring customer needs are met through effective coordination with Plant Managers, drivers, and dispatch while delivering high-quality concrete solutions on time and within budget.
Reporting Structure:
The Sales/Project Manager reports directly to the Regional Sales/Service Manager and has a reporting line to the President and Vice President.
Key Duties:
Sales Development:
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building relationships with contractors, developers, and other clients to secure ready-mix concrete contracts.
o Prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and close sales deals to meet revenue targets.
o Maintain an active pipeline of leads and follow up with existing customers to ensure repeat business and satisfaction.
Project Management:
o Oversee concrete projects from order to delivery, coordinating with Plant Managers and Quality Control to ensure mix designs and production schedules align with client specifications.
o Work with dispatch and drivers to schedule timely deliveries, resolving any logistical issues that arise during project execution.
o Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, and address client concerns promptly.
Customer Relations:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, technical support, and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
o Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, offering tailored concrete solutions and value-added services to enhance satisfaction.
Collaboration:
o Partner with Plant Managers, the Driver Manager, and Dispatch Team to align sales commitments with operational capabilities across multiple sites.
o Provide feedback on market trends, customer demands, and project outcomes to the Operations Manager for strategic planning.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in sales and/or project management, construction, or a related industry (minimum 3-5 years preferred).
· Strong understanding of construction processes, and delivery logistics.
· Proficiency with sales tools and project management systems.
· Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to client sites and plants as needed.
· Physical ability to visit job sites and assess project conditions when required.
· Detail-oriented with excellent negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication skills for building client relationships and coordinating with internal teams, with a customer-focused and team-oriented mindset.
