We are currently seeking an Alternative Delivery Integration Manager to lead the design development efforts for large-scale infrastructure projects, overseeing preconstruction, design coordination, and construction services. This role involves collaborating closely with construction, estimating, and design teams, managing project risks, and ensuring design optimization for successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design development process, coordinating preconstruction activities and working closely with design and construction teams.
- Develop and execute strategies for assembling teams, including design partners and consultants, ensuring alignment with contract requirements.
- Manage design resources, planning, budgeting, and oversee all design-related activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Review proposed contract revisions, technical provisions, and design requirements, providing support for the design effort.
- Supervise and lead both internal and external engineers, ensuring accurate and timely design submissions.
- Identify and address design risks, proposing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with technical provisions, monitor design progress, and report on schedule and budget status.
- Coordinate the resolution of design and engineering problems, offering solutions to optimize design and minimize construction time.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, engineers, and subcontractors.
- 10 years of experience in alternative delivery projects, with increasing responsibility in design management.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in at least one state, with the ability to obtain registration in other states.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and DOT regulations is required.
- Experience with CAD and engineering software.
- Proven ability to manage design for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and construction partners.
- Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
- Experience working with state DOTs is highly valued.
- Knowledge of construction methods, civil projects, and scheduling software (Microsoft Project, P-6).
- Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
- Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instruction – prepare, provide, and convey diversified information.
- Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity – regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
- Work has periodic stress due to frequent goals and deadlines, and responsibility associated with the role.
