Camp Nurse lives in the medical building on-site and working hours reflect being on duty24 hours with routine breaks. Camp Nurses are hired for one or more sessions. We offer four-day and six-day sessions. Staff report to work the day before the session begins.

- Job Responsibilities This position will be located at Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter County
- Under the supervision of the Camp Director and CYSHCN Nurse Consultant, implement a program of health and safety for the campers and staff of a summer camp for children, teens and young adults who have physical disabilities and/or chronic illnesses.
- Provides direct nursing care services to campers and staff including but not limited to:
- Storage and administration of medications
- Performing and supervising medical treatments
- Providing first aid
- Documentation of all medications, treatments and intervention in the camper and staff medical record.
- Provides training to camp staff on health and safety procedures, infection control, g-tube feedings and catheterization.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the infirmary including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, changing and washing linens and emptying trash.
- Participates in CQI/Quality Assurance activities including:
- Review of camper records for physician orders for treatments and medicines
- Review of camper records for complete and current documentation
- Ensuring staff compliance with OSHA regulations
- Review of ACA accreditation health and wellness standards to ensure compliance.
- Attend camp nurse training.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the SC Board of Nursing or compact state.Associate degree or diploma in nursing and one (1) year experience as a registered nurse; experience in pediatrics, child health, school nursing or public health nursing.
- Current CPR certification.
