Compensation

The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States can be found in the JOB INFO section below. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as Assistant Manager-Product Engineering!

Are you passionate about Product Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Underground Product Engineering team. As a Assistant Manager-Product Engineering, you’ll be crucial in ensuring continued innovation and supporting our diverse team.

S&C is a specialist in high-voltage switching, protection and control, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911. Product Engineering – Underground is responsible for S&C’s underground distribution products, including Vista UDS, Vista Green UDS, Vista SD UDS, Pad-Mounted Gear and future products. This position is for a capable, experienced engineer who is interested in joining the S&C leadership team to organize and drive production support activities, develop and deliver new features and functions for the existing PMG product family, and develop their team-members.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Leading a team of engineers and designers responsible for providing support to underground distribution product’s production lines.
• Technical leadership and guidance to underground distribution production lines as well as the team members that support them.
• Engineering oversight for small-scale product design and process improvements.
• Working with suppliers, production representatives, and customers to resolve product related issues in a timely manner.
• Reviewing and approving RMA reports and issuing corrective actions, undertaking root cause analysis, and supervising design changes when appropriate.
• Recruiting, training, and mentoring team members to meet personal, professional, and corporate performance objectives
• Providing high-quality engineering support for internal and external customers.
• Achieving and maintaining a high standard of quality on the supported product line(s).
• Resource tracking for project and team member allocation.
• Presentation of significant findings, orally and in writing, to senior management and engineers throughout the company.

To be eligible for this position you must at least meet these requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a Product Support, Design, or Development role.
• Strong analytical and data processing skills as well as a solid understanding of statistics.
• Experience with modeling and simulation environments such as Matlab, and Ansys.
• Experience with high power and high voltage testing and the applicable test standards for switchgear.
• Ability to work within a team and to build positive relationships with team members and project stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Ability to interface with internal and external customers.
• Experience with project planning and project management.
