S&C Electric is looking for Field Service Specialist to join our Power Systems Services (PSS) department. S&C's Power Systems Services (PSS) provides customers with a wide range of electric power industry engineering and construction services. The group also coordinates large orders involving multiple product groups and/or third parties and provides field services for customers

Available Shift

  • 1st shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Overtime: fluctuates

Job Description
The successful candidate for this position will manage the service schedules of the Field Service Center -North Central Region. This service center is located in Chicago, IL This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, and the drive to seek answers to solutions. They will need to carefully balance many responsibilities, garner strong communication skills, and an attention to detail. S&C's Power Systems Solutions (PSS) provides customers with a wide range of electric power industry engineering and standard field services. This position will schedule S&C Field Service teams responsible for executing upgrades, checkouts, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs of S&C equipment that are installed in the field. This role will work closely with the sales, project management, parts, technical support, and other S&C offices/agencies to coordinate field services. They will manage all aspects of each project and is accountable for the overall project execution. The Field Service Specialist must have confident computer skills and be proficient with digital organization. This position will report to the Manager-Regional Field Service North Central


The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create, assign, and update SalesForce Cases, Work Orders, and Service Appointments
  • Enter RMA's and Sales Orders in Oracle.
  • Coordinate several concurrent field service requests in a timely manner
  • Communicate with Project Managers to define job needs and identify requirements/responsibilities
  • Manage customer specific operating requirements to ensure our work plan covers all Field Service & S&C needs while meeting customer expectation (paper trail, certifications, timing etc.)
  • Maintain project from creation to closeout.
  • Manage project financial targets
  • Create proposals/quotes for field services
  • Assist with Proposal Team with job scopes and time to complete estimates
  • Available for after-hour and weekend emergency phone support
  • Work closely with the S&C Electric Company Global Support Monitoring Center (GSMC) to support customers' needs
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • Strong customer communication skills, both oral and written
  • Previous experience working in an Oracle and SalesForce environment
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office suite
  • Solid writing skills including the ability to take drafts prepared by others to a final format.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a detailed, fast paced, and customer-oriented environment.
  • Experience in a customer service or field service-oriented role preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, Detailed Oriented, and multitasking skills
  • Relevant Experience Required: 1 years of experience in an office or dispatcher setting related to customer service.

  • Walking: Frequent walking within S&C Electric Company
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of parts, test equipment, tools, etc.
  • Pushing: Moderate or with mechanical assistance
  • Pulling: Moderate or with mechanical assistance
  • Bending: Occasional bending or crouching to perform work
  • Reaching: Occasional full range of motion to perform work
  • Handling: Occasionally handling of parts, tools, test equipment, and office equipment
  • Environment: Work performed in a regular office environment.
