Summary
Assist and learn from Journeyman Electricians in maintaining complex electrical systems at SEH America.
Job Duties
Work with Journeyman Electricians to perform the following duties:
- Install and repair wiring, fixtures and equipment.
- Schedule and communicate routine electrical preventative maintenance.
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot and repair systems.
- Inspect electrical equipment to identify hazards and to ensure the equipment is in good operational condition. Maintain plant electrical safety and ensure that installations follow code compliance and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Some prior experience and/or training in related field required.
- High voltage experience
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude and the ability to learn and use job related tools and equipment.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from Facilities Maintenance Technicians and Supervisor.
- Able to continually increase technical knowledge by attending training internal and external training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with other technicians, supervisors, and SEH-A personnel.
- Ability to climb and work from heights, work in confined spaces and lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Will be required to work in hot and cold environments and in all weather conditions.
- A criminal background check is required for this position.
Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High Voltage experience preferred
Working Conditions
Will work both indoors and outdoors in a wide variety of facility, manufacturing, and shop areas. May be exposed to excessive noise levels. May be exposed to wet/slippery conditions. Ability to work at heights and in confined/congested spaces is required. Usage of PPE gear up to level B and compliance with company safety policies and procedures is required. Bending and squatting may be required along with frequent lifting up to 25 - 50 pounds.
The standard hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Overtime (including nights and weekends) could be required.
