What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Technician position at S & H Machine Inc?
Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Summary
The Assembly Technician is responsible for organizing, planning, and coordinating a variety of medium to complex assembly activities. The assembly process includes the assembling of specific parts and components into our finished products. The Assembly Technician is also responsible for compliance to customer requirements by following quality policies, standards, procedures, specifications and facilitating continuously improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and that additional tasks may be assigned to the employee and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
- Use precision measurement tools, including O.D. micrometers, depth micrometers, pins, indicators, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection instruments as needed.
- Verify expiration dates for gauges, sealants, primers, torque wrenches, and related materials.
- Install Heli-Coils per customer specifications
- Identify and mark parts using laser engraving, ink stamping, or other required methods per customer requirements
- Apply potting and sealant per specifications
- Install rivets, Lee plugs, bushings, and pins.
- Install and test magnets to ensure functionality and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform light visual inspections to check for finish quality, foreign object debris (FOD), and potential damage.

Experience and Education:
Type of Experience: Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands - General Activities
