Reason Position is Open: getting too big, this is a newly created position as the CEO has been doing all the accounting and finance
Base Salary: 110K – 140K DOE
3 Keys:
- Blended background in GAAP Accounting and Finance – FP&A, budgeting
- Someone that can be more of an Advisor but is also hands on and can mentor a small team
- Help take them GAAP compliant
- Most important – a candidate needs good tenure at their jobs!
Selling Points: Family Culture, would be the head finance person reporting to CEO, able to create a function in their own eyes, ownership open to new ideas and collaborations are open to everyone
Overall, the financial controller will ensure the company's financial stability and supports its growth objectives while maintaining strong financial governance.
- Oversee and mentor a team of 4 (AP/AR/Claims Data Entry type folks) – making sure all entries are properly entered
- Managing all Accounting / Month end/ Year end and Finance – Forecasting/Budgeting for company
- Take them to GAAP Accounting, there will be cleanup work along with defying process and procedures for the organization
- Needs to be hands and not afraid to do lighter accounting work when need
- Will be back up for payroll person when out, so having expr with payroll is a need too
- Have integrity, nice, helpful, respectful, ideally someone looking for a place they can be with a long time

relevant duties for the job :
- Financial Reporting: Prepares accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This includes balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develops annual budgets and financial forecasts. This involves analyzing past performance and market trends to set realistic financial goals.
- Cost Management: Monitors and analyzes costs to identify areas for improvement. This can include inventory management, supplier negotiations, and operational efficiencies.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensures sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations, managing cash flow forecasts and optimizing working capital.
- Internal Controls: Establishes and maintains internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. This includes overseeing financial processes and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Prepares and files tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, and optimizing the company’s tax position.
- Financial Strategy: Collaborates with leadership to develop long-term financial strategies and assess investment opportunities for growth.
- Team Management: Supervises the finance team, providing guidance and training to ensure effective financial operations.
