SUMMARY
Prepares soiled linens and towels for washing machine, loads and unloads washers and dryers, folds and stores clean linens and towels on shelves. Keeps work area clean and empty lint from dryers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
- Gather all soiled linens and towels every half hour (1/2) from Room Attendants on all floors of the Resort until all soiled linens and towels are gathered.
- Prepare soiled linens and towels for washing machine, including pretreating, and soaking.
- Wash all soiled linens and towels.
- Change detergent container as needed.
- Move laundry from washer to dryer.
- All dried laundry will be sorted, folded, and put away.
- Keep laundry room area clean, clean lint from dryers.
- Mop floors, clean laundry room shelves, and wipe down washers and dryers.
- Always keep the folding table clear and clean.
- Maintains open communication with Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager regarding any issues that might reveal a weakness or vulnerable area of housekeeping discovered during operations.
- May fill in for absent or sick housekeeping employees.
- Gather room service dishes from hallways as needed and return to kitchen.
- Deliver clean linens and towels to the designated closets for Room Attendants.
- Ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
- Reports linen and towel quality to Manager.
- Must always maintain composure in all situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Prefer six (6) months of experience as a Room Attendant or prior experience working in laundry at another hotel.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Problem solving and decision making.
- Skill in observing situations and decision making.
- Skill in dealing courteously with the public.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor, Housemen and Room Attendants.
