IT Security Analyst

Job Title: IT Security Analyst 3
Location: Dimondale, MI (Hybrid – Onsite 2 days per week)

Job Type: Staff Augmentation (40 hours/week)
Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Job Description:

The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst 3 to support cybersecurity operations. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various national and international security standards, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance IT security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform security assessments and audits based on national and international standards such as NIST, PCI, CJIS, CMS, ISO, SOX, HIPAA, and HITECH.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security best practices.
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments for IT infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Provide technical security guidance to IT teams and stakeholders.
• Monitor security trends and provide recommendations for improving security policies and procedures.
• Participate in security incident response activities.
• Document security findings, prepare reports, and present results to management.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in IT security, compliance, or audit-related roles.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, and security best practices.
• Experience performing security assessments, reviews, and compliance audits.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessments.
• Familiarity with security tools, SIEM solutions, and identity access management systems is a plus.

Interview Process:

• Round 1: Virtual interview via MS Teams.
• Round 2: In-person interview at the Dimondale, MI office.
• A vendor representative must be present at the start of the virtual interview to validate the candidate.

Work Arrangement:

• Hybrid: Candidates must work onsite at the Dimondale, MI office at least 2 days per week.
• Local and non-local candidates are accepted. However, non-local candidates must relocate at their own expense before the start date.
• No remote-only option available.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $44.50 - $50.51 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Compensation Package:

• 1099 contract
