Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced
As a Geotechnical Department Manager in Atlanta, Georgia, you will have strengths in managing multiple projects and an entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior staff, developing relationships with clients, as well as coordinating with other S&ME staff across multiple service lines and locations.
What You'll Do:
As a Geotechnical Department Manager you will:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering successful geotechnical projects.
- Take an active role in project management, business development, safety, quality, finance, HR, and risk management.
- Oversee or delegate the creation of proposals and reports.
- Strategically assign staff to optimize profitability and achieve financial goals.
- Promote cross-selling of services, participate in Business Development activities, and utilize WinPlan tools effectively.
- Build and maintain industry relationships by engaging with local organizations to enhance the company's brand and expand professional networks.
What We're Looking for:
- High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction related field, preferred
- At least 8 years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management, experience within the A/E/C industry
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships, proven ability to grow a business with experience winning work and increasing backlog;
- Ability and desire to divide time between the office and regular site visits in the field to support and engage field staff
What to Expect:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
