Are you an experienced Geologist who specializes in hydrogeologic investigations seeking a challenging opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and skills while working on large-scale energy and nuclear projects? S&ME is looking for an eager and dedicated full-time Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Civil team. While it is preferred that this individual reside in Charlotte, we are open to candidates based in Knoxville, Greensboro, Greenville-Spartanburg, Columbia, and surrounding areas.
What You Will Do:
As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will play a pivotal role in planning, developing, coordinating, and directing significant hydrogeologic investigations and projects of major scope and importance. Serving as a technical expert within our Energy Markets (including power generation, nuclear, waste management, and mining), you will tackle complex problems through comprehensive and conceptually related studies. You will service clients in natural gas, electricity distribution, nuclear, water resources, dams, renewables, mining facilities, waste management, and municipalities. You will also mentor, train, and oversee the work of subordinate professionals, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence and project delivery.
• Manage projects from start to finish, overseeing client communication, proposals, field operations, and financials.
• Execute detailed field investigations for complex projects and prepare comprehensive environmental reports, permit applications, and work plans.
• Lead on proposals of unusual size or complexity, driving business development and maintaining client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and training to develop their skills and expertise.
• Actively engage in professional industry organizations to stay current with industry trends and expand your professional networks.
What You Bring:
• A Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Geology
• 10 years of relevant experience
• A Professional Geologist (PG) certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn commercial software applications
