Part 1: Coding Expertise
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with extensive experience in building and maintaining complex financial systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, data processing, and automation. Key responsibilities and requirements include:
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based financial tools and systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for data processing, reporting, and automation.
- Implement robust error-handling mechanisms and logging for large-scale data operations.
- Work with libraries such as `pandas`, `numpy`, and `selenium` for data manipulation and automation.
- Design and implement modular, reusable, and scalable code structures.
- Integrate with APIs, databases, and file systems for data extraction and processing.
- Debug, test, and optimize existing code to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python and VBA, with a focus on data processing and automation.
- Strong experience with libraries like `pandas`, `numpy`, and `selenium`.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of working with large datasets, including data cleaning, merging, and transformation.
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
- Experience with tools like PyCharm or similar IDEs.
- Familiarity with error handling, logging, and debugging in Python.

In addition to technical expertise, the candidate must have a strong understanding of index finance and financial data management. Key responsibilities and requirements include:
Responsibilities:
- Work with financial indices, including their construction, maintenance, and rebalancing.
- Analyze and process financial data, including stock attributes, market caps, and index weights.
- Implement and automate index-related calculations, such as IWF adjustments, share set management, and rebalance events.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of index-related reports.
- Handle corporate actions, such as stock splits, spin-offs, and special dividends, and their impact on indices.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and index methodologies.
Requirements:
Financial knowledge:
- Basic understanding of index finance, including index construction, rebalancing, and corporate actions.
- Familiarity with financial datasets, including stock keys, ISINs, RICs, and SEDOLs.
- Knowledge of financial concepts like market cap, IWF (Investable Weight Factor), and share adjustments.
- Ability to interpret and implement index methodologies and rules.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in handling financial data.
- Understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, indices, and market events.
- Familiarity with concepts like market capitalization, share adjustments, and index rebalancing.
- Knowledge of corporate actions (e.g., stock splits, dividends, spin-offs).
- Understanding of index rules, membership changes, and calculations.
Fast Learning Ability:
- Proven ability to quickly grasp complex financial concepts and apply them in a technical context.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and process index-related data.
- Ability to work with domain experts to understand and implement index methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in index management or financial data processing.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
