Job Overview:
S P O T, Inc. is seeking an Early Childhood Early Intervention Specialist to join energetic and dynamic team. The Early Childhood Early Intervention Specialist is a core provider of early intervention services to infants, toddlers and their families in the Early Start service system.
Qualifications:
- An EIS possesses at a minimum of a bachler's degree in Early Intervention, Child Development or closely related field
OR
- AA degree in Child Development or related field plus the equivalent of associate teacher California Child Development permit (12 units) plus coursework to meet EIA competencies, including supervised fieldwork in early intervention AND 4 years of experience working as an EIA.
Duties:
- Provides home visits to families, to support parent/child interactions through developmentally appropriate play activities.
- Will check in with families of the program.
- Educate parents and implement an early intervention plan.
- Create a positive and nurturing environment for the children/infants.
- Perform a variety of tasks defined on the IFSP for staff.
- Attend monthly and weekly staff meetings.
- Provide support in parent/child or parent/teacher interaction that encourages developmentally appropriate activities for the changing needs of infants and toddlers.
- Contribute to various reports such as progress reports for IFSPs, within timelines.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to information and records concerning children, families and staff in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Competent with electronic documentation.
- Carry a caseload and travel to each home as needed using own transportation.
- Maintain car insurance and car maintenance.
- Assist in organizational committees to improve services and family support .
- Use SMS messaging consistently to keep communication flowing between team members.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques
- Experience in providing skilled developmental support to children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
