Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Raw Bar Shucker / Barback team member to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly shucking oysters and other raw bar items, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Shuck oysters and other shellfish with precision and care, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Prepare and plate raw bar items in accordance with restaurant specifications.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the raw bar area, including proper storage of seafood.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw bar items and communicate needs to management.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests at the raw bar.
- Helping bartenders with other tasks during downtime periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in culinary or food service roles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Proficiency with knives and other kitchen tools essential for shucking shellfish.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
