Summary:
Assist management in coordinating the warehouse activities of the distribution center by performing the following duties.
Standard Work Hours: Varies- depending on branch needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- A Lead’s primary function is to assist the supervisory staff of the branch.
- The lead will provide leadership and supervision to associates in their area of responsibility as well as all associates.
- Assist in enabling the distribution center to fulfill its goals and the overall company mission.
- Maintain the company policies while communicating company goals and expectations. Primary responsibility is to oversee production in their assigned area, administer the training program of all new associates, to monitor and provide direction in their assigned area.
- Report to manager or supervisor in charge of their area and assume any additional responsibility assigned.
Expectations
- Train associates on efficient work methods and procedures
- Direct all production and quality control functions in their assigned area
- Oversee associates with regard to daily production performance
- Ensure established volumes of production are met or surpassed daily
- Develop and motivate associates and present direct supervisor with issues
- Focus attention and efforts to maximize profitability Provide leadership in the absence of any supervisor

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Math Ability:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of basic office (spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail) as well as inventory and warehouse management software. Knowledge of AS400 and PKMS is essential.
