Title: Senior Tax Manager
Type: Full-time / Perm / On-site
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Base Salary Range: $150k - $200k/annually, depending on experience.
Summary:
Our client is seeking a talented, highly experienced Senior Tax Manager to join their rapidly growing firm in Ft. Worth. TX! The Senior Tax Manager will lead the tax team and provide exceptional service to high-net-worth individual clients with assets exceeding $3M, including state and federal income tax, fiduciary, trust, estate, gift, and charitable tax planning and compliance. The firm is a fast-growing wealth management and tax (RIA) firm with locations across the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and lead the staff through counsel, guidance and coaching.
- Provide recommendations for business innovation and process improvements relative to the client's operations and objectives as well as the internal processes of the firm.
- Proactively participate in practice development by contributing to thought leadership and identifying service opportunities.
- Collaborate with the team and partners on proposals and business development calls.
- Contribute to project revenue and profit objectives through effective management of budgeting, project execution, invoicing, and collecting functions.
- Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain a personal relationship with high-net-worth individual clients with assets exceeding $3M as the Tax Expert on the planning team.
- Actively participate in signing and onboarding new clients to the firm.
- Lead the Tax Client Service Team for compliance and tax planning.
- Perform final reviews of tax returns (federal & state income tax returns for high net-worth individuals, businesses, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates).
- Oversee tax projections and tax audits for clients.
- Assist clients by attending client meetings and delivering tax plans.
- Support the Financial Advisory Team in tax planning-related functions.
- Coach and develop the Fort Worth, TX team through providing real-time, consistent feedback.
Qualifications:
- Licensed CPA or JD required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Masters Degree in Taxation preferred.
- 8 years of experience working with high-net-worth individual clients with assets exceeding $3M in all of their tax planning and compliance needs, including trust, estate, and gift tax-planning, and partnership and fiduciary tax planning.
- 8 years of experience in a professional financial services firm providing comprehensive tax services to high net worth individuals and their closely held businesses, with 3 years of experience in a supervisory position.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Strong tax research and professional writing skills, including creating and giving presentations.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills.
- Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel) required.
- Solid understanding of the workings of the Internal Revenue Code, tax regulations, and other tax pronouncements.
- Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems, including CCH Axcess Tax, BNA Tax Planner, BNA Portfolios, RIA Checkpoint, and other tax research tools.
- Strong, working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, MSFT Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat).
- Proven ability to manage heavy workloads and projects, many on a time-sensitive basis.
- Ability to interact with a tight-knit team of professionals with a wide range of tax knowledge.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to function well in a fast-paced, high opportunity business environment with continued growth and development.
