Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care in accordance with Illinois state

laws and regulations. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing care

plans, administering medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure

optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Assessment and Care Planning

o Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and

social evaluations.

o Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient
-
assessments and medical conditions.
-
o Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary in
-
collaboration with the healthcare team.

2. Medication Administration
-
o Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or nurse
-
practitioner.

o Monitor patients for medication side effects, interactions, and effectiveness, and
-
document observations.

3. Clinical Duties

o Perform and oversee clinical procedures, including wound care, catheterizations,

and specimen collections.

o Operate and maintain medical equipment safely and effectively.

o Provide patient education on managing medical conditions, medications, and

treatment plans.

4. Patient Advocacy and Communication

o Advocate for patient needs and preferences, ensuring their rights and dignity are

o Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members,

5. Infection Control and Safety

personal protective equipment (PPE), and sanitation procedures.

o Implement and follow safety measures to prevent patient harm, including fall

prevention and safe medication administration practices.

o Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures as required.

6. Compliance and Professionalism

o Maintain current RN licensure in Illinois and adhere to all relevant state laws and

o Follow facility policies and procedures related to patient care, safety, and ethical

Qualifications
-
Education and Certification:
-
o Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

from an accredited nursing program.

o Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.

o Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life
-
Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Experience:

o Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.

o Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced

environment.
