Heat and Frost Insulator

Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and apprenticeship worthy Insulators to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insulation installation, or be willing to learn the trade, with the ability to work effectively in various construction environments. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints, ensuring that insulation is applied correctly for optimal energy efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

• Install insulation materials to surfaces of mechanical (heating, plumbing, etc.) equipment such as air ducts, hot and cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, refrigeration units, etc., such as fiberglass, elastomeric, or calcium silicate insulations.
• They read blueprints and specifications to determine what systems require insulation, measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat, irregular or round surfaces, using tape measure, knife or scissors.
• Fits, wraps or attaches required insulation material to or around structure, using preformed insulation, wires or mechanical fasteners, following blueprint specifications.
• Covers or seals insulation material with preformed plastic covers, sealants -or tape to secure insulation to structure covered.
• Among specialty insulations they fabricate removable insulation covers, apply styrofoam (or similar materials) to low temperature piping and equipment, and apply various materials to underground piping and vessels.
• Insulators must be able to perform any combination of the above duties without close supervision, in a safe and orderly fashion and work alongside other construction crafts.
• Insulators will work in limitless conditions (from sub-zero weather to hottest summer day or in artificial heat from mechanical sources).
• Conduct quality checks on installed insulation to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

• Experience in insulation installation or related construction fields preferred.
• Experience using hand tools relevant to the trade.
• Understanding of blueprint reading and trade estimating techniques.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.50 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
