Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor Crew Chief to join our team. This role is essential in supporting civil engineering projects by providing precise measurements and mapping of land areas.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using advanced surveying equipment, including GPS and total stations.
- Collect data for mapping and boundary determination, ensuring accuracy in measurements.
- Draft survey plans and reports using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D software.
- Collaborate with civil engineering teams to provide necessary survey information for project development.
- Analyze survey data to identify potential issues or discrepancies in land boundaries.
- Utilize trigonometry and other mathematical principles to calculate distances and angles.
- Prepare documentation for legal descriptions of property boundaries.
- Maintain records of all surveys conducted, including notes, sketches, and photographs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field or 5 years Boundary surveying, research, and resolution required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and other CAD software.
- Strong skills in data collection techniques and analysis.
- Knowledge of surveying principles, trigonometry, and civil engineering concepts.
- Experience with GPS technology for land surveying applications.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on various projects.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
