Machine Operator II - Manufacturing

Essential Job Functions:
1. Setup and operate machinery to produce a variety of styles of file folders from roll stock. Setups involve a series of adjustments to scoring, punching, gluing, feeding, cutting, aligning and folding mechanisms, all of which are critical to producing a quality product.
2. Load roll paper and thread through machine to print, tint, punch, cut, score, die, glue, reinforce, strip and fold.
3. Make adjustments as required to assure that adequate pressure is maintained on feeding and gluing mechanism as well as those involving printing, tinting, cutting, scoring, reinforcing and folding.
4. Inspect finished product during production run to assure that folders are square, even and that print and shade are properly maintained within customer requirements.
5. Maintain machine by replacing blades and punches; lubricating; cleaning and purging tanks; repair and clean nozzles and orifices, agitator; observe and maintain proper settings on glue unit.
6. Fill out work reports and production records timely and accurately.
7. Keep machine area clean and orderly.
8. Maintain production standards and setups.
9. Adhere to all safety and quality procedures.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively and legibly – verbal and written.
- Mathematically inclined.
- Ability to use a calculator, ruler, and micrometer.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to lift, move up to 45 pounds.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in set-up and operation of machinery, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
