Network Engineer I Position Description Location: Orlando, FL (On-Site) S2Technologies, LLC is hiring a Network Engineer I located in Orlando, FL. The Network Engineer I will analyze network systems and assist with planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Responsibilities include:
- Monitor: system performance; ensure system availability and reliability; system resource utilization; trending; and capacity planning
- Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
- Configures systems to user environments.
- Supports the acquisition of hardware and software.
- Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects though vendor comparison and cost studies.
- Assists in the development of technical presentations to senior management and customer personnel.
- Monitors: system performance; ensure system availability and reliability; system resource utilization; trending; and capacity planning
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and viability of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Assist in selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures.
- Liaise with and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Three years relevant experience demonstrating the ability to apply technical knowledge across key tasks to achieve desired results.
- Ability to receive and properly apply guidance from leadership or customers.
- Experience executing technology assignments.
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively with others including leading small teams.
- Possess a high level of proficiency to apply broad knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication, craft, and vocational skills to include writing skills for manuals, technical reports, and procedures.
- Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, So)
- Experience with VMware virtualization tools, to include vSphere, and their interoperability with networks.
- Experience performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Experience with logical isolation of virtual enclaves to support isolated test environments.
- Experience with configuring/administering NetApp storage networks.
- Military experience or experience as a DoD contractor a plus
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field
- Degree and zero to Three (3) years' work-related experience.
- CCNA desired
- VMware Certified Professional desired.
- Active US government Top Secret Clearance is required.
