S3 Security is seeking Full-Time Security Officers for the Tallahassee Florida area. We are currently interviewing applicants to fill both day and overnight shifts. In addition to seeking applicants for both Dedicated Officers (on site) and Vehicle Patrol Officers ( roving & foot patrols)
DEDICATED OFFICERS:
Dedicated Security Officers will work a specific job site performing a number of specific tasks. Tasks can include performing access control for gated communities / performing critical security infrastructure inspections/ report writing including photos / communicating with other security team members, their supervisors, law enforcement, first responders and the S3 Security Dispatch center/ conflict resolution/ surveillance / enforcing private property rules and regulations/ sitting, standing, walking are required throughout the course of every shift.
Dedicated officer applicants- MUST HAVE A CLEAN BACKGROUND, A STATE OF FLORIDA CLASS D SECURITY OFFICERS LICENSE, THE ABILITY TO READ AND TYPE REPORTS USING A COMPANY ISSUED SMARTPHONE.
VEHICLE PATROL OFFICERS:
Vehicle Patrol Officers are assigned to a specific patrol zone and company patrol vehicle/ performing patrols and security checks on a number of different locations during the shift/ specific tasks can include performing vehicle & foot patrols/ inspecting properties and equipment for damages/ report writing including photos / responding to calls for service/ conflict resolution/ communicating with other security team members, their supervisors, law enforcement, first responders and the S3 Security Dispatch center/ surveillance/ enforcing private property rules and regulations/ sitting, standing, walking , driving , are required throughout the course of every shift.
Vehicle Patrol applicants- MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING HISTORY AS WELL AS A CLEAN BACKGROUND. DMV CHECK (MVR) AND BACKGROUND CHECK WILL BE PERFORMED FOR ALL CANDIDATES. YOU WILL NOT BE SELECTED IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE VEHICLE VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE PAST 3 YEARS. A STATE OF FLORIDA CLASS D SECURITY OFFICERS LICENSE, THE ABILITY TO READ AND TYPE REPORTS USING A COMPANY ISSUED SMARTPHONE,
The job duties of a Security Officer will include but are not limited to:
Conducting vehicle and foot patrols of our clients’ properties, performing access control, deterring criminal activity, parking enforcement, responding to noise complaints, general disturbances, and potential crimes in progress.
Report writing, safe driving, conflict resolution. Maintain communications with the Security Dispatch center for officer safety, operational efficiency, and to assign “Calls for Service” to the appropriate patrol officer.
Understand and meet the needs of each unique site. Following post orders, enforcing private property rules and regulations. Working with Law Enforcement and your security team and supervisors.
Enforcing trespass statutes and civil lease agreements.
Report on regular activity, incidents, and maintenance concerns
Additional duties as required by the Site Post Orders
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:
Florida Class D Security License
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Proof of ability to work in the United States
Pass a multi-panel drug screening
Have reliable transportation
Be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Be familiar with typing and computer use
Be able to learn new computer software in an efficient and effective time frame
Be able to perform moderate physical tasks
Be able to operate a motor vehicle safely, efficiently, and responsibly
Complete all appropriate training modules
No criminal convictions as specified under S3 Security Policies and Procedures
PREFERRED APPLICANTS MAY INCLUDE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Criminal Justice Academy Graduate / College degree in Criminal Justice or a similar field
Former/Current Law Enforcement Officer (includes military law enforcement)
US Military Veteran
Private Security background
Class G Security License (preferred but this is not mandatory )

- You MUST already have a state of Florida class D security officer's license .
- You must have a valid drivers license with no more than 3 points showing on your motor vehicle record ( MVR ) over the last 3 years.
- Shift hours will vary from 8 to 12 hours depending on scheduled locations.
