Position Summary
The job of the Youth Specialist is to implement afterschool programming at an SA Youth program site. The Youth Specialist will work with their fellow Youth Specialists, Site Coordinators, and SA Youth leadership to implement each component of the extended learning program. The Youth Specialist will supervise a group of assigned students, implementing the provided program curriculum at their assigned campus.
Essential Functions
Lead, implement, and document educational and extracurricular activities during Academic Achievers program time.
Know and adhere to SA Youth Policies and Procedures, making safety and care of students the primary focus.
Build positive and healthy relationships with the students and their families at an assigned program site.
Be present, physically and mentally, at all times. Provide active and adequate supervision of students.
Maintain and enforce SA Youth’s discipline policy regarding student behavior.
Help maintain program spaces by following the Site Coordinator’s guidelines for organization and cleaning, including but not limited to: setup/breakdown of daily snack service, taking the trash out at the end of the day, and tidying up the bathroom.
Interface with program partners and provide classroom management support during partner-led lessons.
Actively participate in all aspects of mandatory professional development and training.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Required: GED/High School Diploma Must be 16 years of age to work with students in grades K-5
Required: At least one (1) year of experience working with children/youth.
