Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor – Recycling and Distribution Center
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, processing, and shipment of various goods. This hands-on leadership role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train, supervise, and motivate a diverse team while ensuring workplace safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure facility by enforcing workplace safety standards, including vehicle, forklift, and warehouse equipment safety protocols.
- Supervise warehouse personnel, including maintenance workers, loaders/unloaders, forklift operators, and other support staff.
- Load/Unload trailers and containers using forklift
- Conduct effective employee pre-shift meetings and provide ongoing training to improve performance and safety awareness.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring timely and accurate handling of goods.
- Monitor and improve productivity in material processing, including baled clothing, books, metal, and e-scrap.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align warehouse operations with business objectives.
- Enforce security measures to prevent theft, unauthorized access, and illegal dumping.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and donation/customer drop-offs.
- Manage employee schedules, track attendance, and approve/disapprove vacation requests to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Oversee planned maintenance of warehouse vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensure warehouse is secure at the end of each day and monitor facility traffic throughout operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and ensure accountability.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.
Reporting Structure:
The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and is expected to work closely with all warehouse personnel to ensure a productive and efficient work environment.
Work Environment:
This role requires physical activity, including walking, lifting, and operating warehouse equipment in a fast-paced setting. The Warehouse Supervisor must be adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.25 - $19.51 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
